Knowledge Asset Management Guide Survey
Overview
The (link will open in a new window) Intellectual Asset Management (IAM) for Universities guide was created by the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) to support the strategic management of intellectual property (IP) in universities and research organisations.
We want to update and improve this guidance to provide clear and concise information on knowledge asset management and associated IP policy. To better reflect the assets created through university research and innovation, the IAM guide will therefore be renamed to Knowledge Asset Management (KAM) Guide.
We will be holding a series of workshops to find out more about what you need from the updated guidance, for example:
- What information would you find most useful concerning knowledge assets (KA), IP and intellectual property rights (IPR’s)?
- How can the guide support you to identify, protect, manage and use knowledge assets effectively? This concerns the support of careers, research, innovation, collaboration, commercialisation and wider interaction with business.
- What is missing from the current guide?
The KAM Guide workshops will be hosted on:
Monday 16 September 2024 (10:00 – 12:00)
Tuesday 17 September 2024 (10:00 – 12:00)
Monday 23 September 2024 (10:00 – 12:00)
Tuesday 24 September 2024 (10:00 – 12:00)
Tuesday 01 October 2024 (10:00 – 12:00)
Why your views matter
Your feedback will help us develop the new Knowledge Asset Management Guide so it can meet the research sector’s current and emerging needs.
This survey has been designed to complement the workshops so we would like you to complete it whether or not you plan to attend one of our workshops. The survey will take approximately 15 minutes to complete.
We are seeking a wide range of perspectives for example from senior leaders, knowledge exchange professionals, professional research services and researchers in universities and research organisations across the UK.
If you have any further questions about completing the survey, would prefer to share your experiences via email, or would like more information about this work, please contact KAM@ipo.gov.uk.
If you wish to withdraw your consent to be contacted, please email KAM Guide opt out to KAM@ipo.gov.uk
